Bakery and tea room

A small bakery and tea room redesigned on a low budget. The east-facing shopfront sat behind a large deciduous tree, so the concept came from sciography: the moving shadows of the tree on the north wall, answered by a pattern of timber box elements on the south wall.

Two years later the owners took the neighbouring shop and asked for an extension, completed in 2019: a longer shop floor, custom tables sized to a standard table top, and a chalk menu board made from recycled timber.
