Rule-based housing — a generative study
- Study
- 12 courtyard units · rules: 7.2 m plot, court ≥ 2.4 m, 1–3 storeys
- Status
- Concept, not built
A small housing cluster generated from a few written rules instead of drawn by hand: 7.2 m plots, every unit keeps its own court of at least 2.4 m, and heights of one to three storeys are chosen by a seeded rule set. The same rules can be re-run to test other combinations, the way BIM and AI tools let a designer compare options quickly.
- 12 units in two rows on 7.2 m plots
- Courts of 2.4–3.6 m, set by rule
- Heights 1–3 storeys from a seeded generator
